Past Sins and the Present Good Deeds

The work of the “Ryou-in’s Wisdom”
and the “En-in’s Action”

Next, based on the “Difference between
Wisdom and Action” discussed above,
I’d like to consider the following two points.

①Why can “Ryou-in’s Wisdom” cure
well countless “No Bright/Bon-nō” —
Vacillating Minds and Desires — of the
Past Lives?

②Why can the “En-in’s Action” effectively
eliminate the Sins made by countless
Karma‘ — Good and Bad actions — of the
Past Lives?

① Why can “Ryou-in’s Wisdom” cure
“No Bright/Bon-nō” well?

First, regarding point ①, why can “Ryou-in’s
Wisdom” cure well countless “No Bright/Bon-nō
Vacillating Minds and Desires?

That’s because both Wisdom and No Bright
arise from the Mind.
Wisdom arises from the Mind.
No Bright/Bon-nō is also a “Vacillating Desire
that arises from the Mind.
The Source of Wisdom and Desires are
the same and it is the Mind. Therefore,
“Ryou-in’s Wisdom” cures well the
“Vacillating Desires” of ‘No Bright/Bon-nō’.

The relationship between Wisdom, Mind,
and Desire

Wisdom and Desire arise from the Mind.
For example, when the mind and desire
have momentum, Wisdom is well exerted.
Furthermore, Desire also arises from the
Mind.
Therefore, Wisdom, Mind, and Desire are
all the same “Products of the Mind.”
Also, Wisdom, Mind, and Desire are
all the same kind.
They are the species of the same kind.
Therefore, Wisdom can cure well
‘No Bright’ — Vacillating Mind or Desire —
of the same kind.

②Why is the Action of “En-in Buddha-nature”
 so effective at treating Karma?

Next, regarding point②, why is the action
of “En-in Buddha-nature” so effective at
treating Karma?
It is because Karma is an Action.
Therefore, Karma is well cured by
the same Action, “En-in’s Action.”
Karma is the countless “Good and Evil
Actions” that you may have performed
in your countless Past Lives.

Regarding karma, I would like to
consider it from the perspective of
the Second Question of “Your Question”,
namely, “Is Karma what has continued
from the infinite past,
 just like ‘No Bright’?”

In conclusion, Karma has continued
from the countless Past Lives.
As I said earlier, because No Bright 
(Vacillating Desire) has continued from
distant Past Lives, the Actions (Karma)
that arise by it also have been done from
the distant Past Lives.
Everyone has done countless “Good and
Evil Deeds” from the countless distant
Past Lives. And among these,
“Ungood Deeds” or “Evil Deeds” create
Sins.

Therefore, the “Retribution of Sins
created by countless actions done in the
Past Lives sometimes suddenly appear
in people’s lives today, bringing misfortune
and suffering to the Present people’s lives.
They can also bring a major obstacle to
the Peace and Prosperity of Modern Society
and the International Community.

For instance, they can arise as the Act that
makes the “End of a war” difficult or the act
of obstructing it. They can also appear as 
the Actions
 of current leaders who try to
settle things by war or violence.

Also, “Retribution of Sins” refers to the
Retribution by Evil Deeds or Ungood Deeds
in the Past Lives.
Therefore, these later sometimes arise in
the Present Lives as a “Body of Suffering“, etc.
The “Suffering” of “Body of Suffering” is
the “Four Sufferings of Life, Old Aging,
Disease, and Death.”
Among these, the “Suffering of Disease,” is
the suffering of Karmic Diseases, namely
‘Incurable Diseases’ for which there is no
established treatment, etc.
Also, “Sufferings of Life” refers to the
“Sufferings of Living,” such as poverty and
various sufferings in human relationships,
etc, and refers to all suffering except the
sufferings of Old Aging, Disease, and Death.

However, since we cannot go back to
the past, we cannot go back to the past to
erase those sins.
Therefore, to treat the past ‘Evil Deeds’ and
‘Sin’, we again use the “Buddha-nature which
has existed from countless Past Lives just like
the Karma of Past Lives.”
Buddha-nature has existed within all the Good
and Bad Deeds that people have done from
countless Past Lives. And seen them all.
Buddha-nature is the Ultimate Expert in
erasing past sins and evil deeds. Therefore,
the treatment and cure of Karma is done by
the Experienced Buddha-nature.
This is the same as the process of treating
‘No Bright/Bon-nō’ by ‘Ryou-in Buddha-nature’.

However, unlike “Ryou-in Buddha-nature,”
the Actions of “En-in Buddha-nature” are not
Wisdom but Action to the last.
Therefore, in order to eliminate your past
evil deeds and sins, you need to perform
some kind of Action in the present.
In other words, some kind of “Good Deed.”

This point is where it differs from
“Ryou-in Buddha-nature”.
In the case of “Ryou-in Buddha-nature,”
Buddha-nature manifests when you exert
your Wisdom and understand something
or solve a problem.
However, with “En-in Buddha-nature”,
Buddha-nature will not manifest unless
you make your wisdom and ideas into
some concrete Action form.
The Good Deeds you perform become
the En (Trigger) and Buddha-nature
manifests.
That is “En-in Buddha-nature.”
