There are two kinds
of “The Ten Myō”
One of the information (teachings)
in the “Law of Origin” is a law called
“The Ten Myō”.
There are two types in this law, called
‘The Ten Trace Myō‘ and ‘The Ten
Real Myō.’ (Table below)
“The Ten Real Myō” is “The Ten Myō
that has been preached, summarizing
the Buddha’s Border.”
On the other hand, “The Ten Trace Myō”
is “The Ten Myō that has been preached,
summarizing General World.”
The table below lists both names.
As you can see at a glance of the table,
the “Real Causes Myō” that has been
preached by summarizing the Buddha,
has “Real” on its head.
But the Ten Trace Myō has nothing
attached on its head.
What does this mean?
The reason why the Ten Real Myō
has “Real” on its head, is because
that is “The Ten Myō that uses
the power of the Law of Origin
and move all phenomena in
phenomenal world to accomplish
things.”
For instance, if you perform acts
of Mercy and Wisdom under the
Law of Origin, you can make the
power of the Law of Origin to be
exerted.
Then, you will be able to move
all phenomena in the phenomenal
world in the direction of achieving
your goals. And your goal will
certainly be fully realized.
Thus, The Ten Real Myō is called
“Real” because it is “The Ten Myō
that really achieves the happiness
or success of a person.”
It is also the “Border of Buddha”
that can do that.
Therefore, The Ten Real Myō is
“The Ten Myō that was preached,
summarizing the Buddha’s Border.”
*
On the other hand, The Ten Trace
Myō, that is “The Ten Myō that
was preached, summarizing
General World” does not
necessarily use the Law of Origin.
In the general public, when people
achieve some goal, they achieve it
by moving only the part of
phenomena or events.
Therefore, The Ten Trace Myō is
“The Ten Myō that is established
by moving the part of phenomena.”
In that case, the “part of
phenomena'” originally are
arising from “all phenomena.”
In other words, the body of
Real and Trace is the same
phenomena itself.
Therefore, the difference
between Real and Trace is
only “whether all of phenomena
or the part of phenomena.”
Since this difference is most
appropriate by the terms “Real
and Trace” (genuine and its copy),
they are used as their respective
names.
The Key Role of The Ten
Trace Myō
However, even if saying Trace
(copy), it does never mean that
it is not important.
The relationship between Real
and Trace is also the relationship
between “The Real thing and
the footprints left by the Real
thing.”
If you write Trace in Chinese
character, it is “跡“, which means
‘Footprint‘. It is about the footprints
that the Real thing passed, and
if you follow the footprints, you can
reach the Real thing, and you can
reveal the Real thing.
Traces have such an important role.
*
This important role of Trace
arises from the fact that the
“body of Real and Trace is the
same phenomena itself,” which
was mentioned above.
Because the both main bodies
are the same, it comes to be
possible that “You can follow
the footprints (Trace) and reach
the Real.”
This is actually Trace’s most
important role and mission.
In other words, if you use Trace,
you will definitely be able to
reach Real (=The Buddha’s Border)
by following that Trace, and reveal
Real.
